SUPPORT THE LIBRARY

Natural Partners Carrying Forward the Library’s Legacy

The New Haven Free Public Library’s operating funds – as with virtually all public libraries across the country – depends upon general appropriations from the City of New Haven.

Remember, with your donation to the Patrons of the New Haven Free Public Library, you will help keep the Library’s proud tradition, mission and vision strong.

  • Making a donation on Network for Good is easy. Network for Good's Web site features a Giving Cart that enables you to make a single donation or multiple donations. You will be asked to create a Profile for future giving, as a way for you to save your contact information and to store your donation history for future reference.
  • Other Ways to Give

     Annual Appeal Fund
Your unrestricted gift to the Annual Appeal Fund from individuals, businesses,   private and family foundations will help to strengthen traditional and core book collections, greater access to technology, enhanced services, quality programs and educational resources to help library users succeed in their life-long learning experiences.

    Tribute and Memorial Gifts
Honor someone with a gift to the Library. Celebrate a birth! Celebrate a milestone birthday! Mark and anniversary! Remember a graduation! Commemorate a promotion or retirement! Tribute and memorial gifts may be made for birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. Gifts in memory of loved ones are also fitting tributes.

    Corporate and Foundation Giving
Gifts from businesses, the corporate community and, corporate and private foundations are essential to the Library’s success in connecting youth and adults to the educational resources and the workforce through literacy. The specific charitable giving priorities of your company can be matched with the Library’s services and programs. The Patrons can work with you to ensure that your gift will have an impact in an area that fits with your giving priorities.

    Gifts of Securities
The Patrons accepts the transfer of appreciated securities directly for your or from your broker. With tax advantages for the donor, many individuals have provided gifts to the Library through a gift of appreciated securities.

    Matching Gifts
The Patrons is eligible for matching gifts programs.

    Pension Protection Act
The Pension Protection Act of 2006 creates a new and exciting opportunity for charitable giving allowing individuals who are age 70 ½ and older to make gifts directly from their IRA assets without tax complications.

    Planned Giving
Further details are available in private consultation with Library Development staff.
